Wightlink diverts sailings to Portsmouth International Port (PIP) in March

As part of a £45 million investment in a new ship and port improvements, Wightlink car ferries to and from Fishbourne will use Portsmouth International Port (Cruise and Cross Channel Ferry Terminal http://tinyurl.com/jqg9fcm for three days in early March 2017. This will allow contractors to carry out work at Portsmouth car ferry terminal.

The diversion will take place:

 ·        Tuesday, 7 March 2017

·         Wednesday, 8 March 2017

·         Thursday, 9 March 2017

As crossing times will be longer, Wightlink have drawn up a revised timetable for these days, check their web site for deatils.

 In addition, please note:

NO VEHICLES WILL BE ACCEPTED AT PIP WITHOUT A BOOKING

·No stand-by traffic will be accepted at PIP.

·Dangerous goods cannot be shipped during these days

As PIP accepts international traffic, it is likely that vehicles travelling to the Isle of Wight may be searched. Freight drivers and their passengers will not be able to leave their vehicle while at the port unless they have their passports with them. This is a standard security measure at PIP.

If you have any queries or want to discuss what this means to you, please contact a member of Wightlink’s Sales Support Team on 02392 855260 who will be happy to help.
